Afterwards we were told that after 10 years this was the last edition of Meesterlijk Design en Ambacht. Too bad because I thought it was a beautiful and good initiative. And of course it is still necessary to promote crafts and handmade products and to give them a platform. Now it appeared that Jan and I participated in the first edition of Meesterlijk and now in the last one. Below a photo account of the fair and of our stay in Amsterdam.
You can see our stand on the first picture. The houses looked intriguing from afar and made people curious about what was in the houses.
Here I am straightening out last minute details before the visitors came in.
An overview of a part of the Zuiveringshal. More than 100 designers, makers and craftsmen participated this year.
On the last day the buds of the amaryllis opened up …
After the fair we got on the tram to have dinner. This is Meneer de Wit heeft honger, an intimate and informal restaurant with nice staff.
Chef Simo Bouabgha learned to cook from his grandmother in the sunny south of Morocco.
The cuisine is surprising, mainly (vegetable) dishes from around the Mediterranean.
This is restaurant De Plantage. A large restaurant in an orangerie near Artis. Isn’t it a lovely picture despite the rain?
Dinner was very good and we enjoyed the beautiful entourage …
We thank the many customers, friends and acquaintances for their visit to our stand at Meesterlijk Design and Ambacht in Amsterdam. Thanks for the loyal support of our small handmade company over the years!

That first dish with the stuffed zucchini blossom is astonishing–I would love to eat there! I’m sorry to see the closing of Meesterlijk Design en Ambacht, as I’ve enjoyed your features on it over the years. Your stand is wonderful, and the glimpses of your jewelery make me very curious and wish I had seen it myself.

Hey Dawn, thanks for your reaction! The restaurant was wonderful especially for vegetarians. They changed all tram numbers in Amsterdam, so we ended up taking taxis, because we got lost. Hardly any other quality shows left now in The Netherlands. It’s a shame … Hope you are well!
