Pigeons and Art

Last Sunday we went to a glass fair in Leerdam and I still owe you a review.
It was a huge affair and I have mixed feelings about it. I guess I expected to see more modern glass. We happened to take the wrong entree and first had to work our way through booths with second hand glass and necklaces made of glass beads. Finely in the last hall (there were 5) we found glassblowers showing their contemporary work.

On the way back home we took small back roads and visited Wijk bij Duurstede a lovely small city with many art galleries. We visited the Jonkergouw Galerie, a gallery with, among other things,  the work of the very well known jeweler, Jos Jonkergouw.

Ring-SpongeAgain on the way home we almost ren over an exhausted carrier pigeon. The poor bird was so out of it that we could easily catch it. We poured water in its beak and I held it in my lap all the way home. It is recovering now in a separate section in my pigeon home… (see also my previous post)
