The goldsmith class for beginners and advanced students will start september 2022 The classes are taught by Master Goldsmith, Jan Kerkstra
on Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon in De Heerenveense School in Heerenveen, The Netherlands.
The beautiful and bright class room can hold up to 10 people. All tools are present. This class consists of 12 lessons and takes place on:
Tuesday morning van 10.00 – 12.30 hours and Tuesday afternoon from: 13.30-16.00 uur. Wednesday morning from 10.00 – 12.30 uur.
In these classes you will learn how to make jewelry and small objects. You’ll learn about tools and the various basic gold-and silversmiths techniques such as;
filing, sawing, soldering and polishing.
Although we do speak English, lessons are thought in the Dutch language.
For the first project; a ring, the silver is free of charge. Materials such as, alpaca, copper and brass are also provided free of charge. If you like to work in
precious materials such as silver or with (semi) precious stones, Jan will provide you with addresses where they sell such materials. Off course are all the
jewelry pieces that you make in class your property.
For more than 25 years Jan Kerkstra designs and makes jewelry. Together with his partner Marion Pannekoek he is the owner of The Jewelry Story an atelier
and exhibition – space in Wijnjewoude, The Netherlands
Jan has more than 10 years experience as a teacher.

These lessons are intended for people who already have some experience with jewelry making.
