Animals rights, a recipe and other things

Already since 2002 The Netherlands have a political party for animal rights.

Anyone who knows me just a little bit, understands that I am voting for this political party. Not only do I endorse their position on animal rights, but I also agree with their ideas on current issues such as climate, nature, environment and economy. We are having elections next week so there is a new poster. I am not going to try to translate it because it’s about a Dutch expression. I like the poster and it is in front of our window and in our atelier.

Twee honden op de uitkijk

Meanwhile, Rubia, the dog we adopted from Granada, has been with us for over a year. It took a while but she is now big buddies with Fons our other dog.

Here they are sitting together on the lookout. After all, you never know who is passing by on the pasture. It could be anything; a loud quacking duck that lands right in front of them, or 2 fighting herons, the farmer, or cats! Cats are by far the favorite.

Finally, I like to share a very simple but tasty recipe with you.

Cauliflower puree with old cheese

1 cauliflower
3 tablespoons sour cream
Nutmeg, salt, pepper
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 ounce grated cheese (I used Old Amsterdam)
Flat leaf parsley

Divide the cauliflower into florets. Cook the cauliflower in about 10 minutes and drain.
Allow the cauliflower to drain well, otherwise it will become too mushy. Add 3 tablespoons sour cream,
salt, pepper, nutmeg and 2 crushed garlic cloves. Stir well and puree briefly with a hand blender.
Heat the cauliflower well and stir in the grated cheese. Sprinkle a handful of finely chopped flat parsley. Bon appétit!
