trechterbeker
This buoyant big silver necklace is part of a collection of jewelry we designed for the Hunebed Centrum in Borger, Drenthe.

For this collection we were inspired by the ceramics they found in Drenthe from the Trechterbeker people. About 5000 years ago this people lived in Drenthe and they are quit famous for their graves, the Hunebedden. The most common pot they found of the Trechterbeker people had a funnel neck. Hence their name, trechter means funnel in Dutch.

The silver elements (the little pots) measure 3cm. long and on the widest point they are 2,5cm wide. In order to see more of the details some parts of the necklace are blackened. Since all the links can move independently of one another, the necklace falls in a very supple manner. The necklace is not heavy and is easy to wear. It has a concealed fastener so that the form is uninterrupted at the back of the neck. The necklace is 47cm. in length so fits close around the neck.

The design is by the two of us. Do you have questions? Please call or e-mail us.
