hip to be square
A beautiful necklace from the series ‘Hip to be Square’. This piece radiates robustness and natural beauty.

With its 67cm. length it falls just above the cleavage. The blocks are made of walnut and ebony and measure 12x12mm. The longer you wear the necklace the darker and more intense will the color of the walnut wood become. This is because you ‘oil’ the wood with your skin. There is a single block of aluminum in the necklace. This block is open on two sides, so that you can see the black (draw) string running through, which gives a fine effect. The necklace is strung on fantastically strong and flexible steel wire. Between the wooden blocks you can see anthracite-colored beads made of hematite. The dark-gray hematite is matt. The necklace looks as though it might be heavy because of its robust appearance. This is not the case, since it just happens to be extremely light.

The series ‘Hip To Be Square is a design we both worked on. The necklaces are made in a limited edition.
