Or a painting ... The brooch has a framework of ebony wood. The ebony has a mat finish and has a bevel (slanting) around.

In the framework sits a gorgeous rutile quartz (a rock crystal) with needles in a cognac color.

The size of the brooch is 4cm. wide and 5cm long.

The brooch is pinned on with a system called safety pin. This safety pin is made of sterling silver. These are not the most convenient locks but they are the safest.

TIP: Usually I pin my brooch on before I pull the garment on.

We like you to know that we use recycled precious metals in our Atelier and the brooches are all made of little scraps and pieces of wood we saved over the years.

The design of the brooch is by the two of us. La Fenetre is a one of a kind piece.
