Today finally I feel fit enough to return to work. In time for the nice weather! And look what has happened in the few days I was sick …
Because although temperatures were freezing last night and everything was white this morning, the sun is out and I realized that it is not long before I have fresh (baby) spinach and radishes from my garden.
The lapwings and starlings have returned from the south. Now we are waiting for the first swallow, and then it’s for sure … the warmer weather has finally arrived!
The last winter chores, pruning before birds start nesting. The neighbor makes a fire …
For the 4th time this year there is a pair of stock doves that nest in one of our trees in the garden. Throughout the winter, the pair of pigeons was around to eat from the bird feeder. This particulare pigeon makes their nest in hollows, mostly in trees but sometimes in old rabbit burrows.
A few weeks ago we heard the haunting sound of the owl. Every year they nest on our property, but so far we never discovered the location. Sometimes we find their pellets on our path.
And occasionally we see an owl fly away when we come home late.
New this year is the pair of Egyptian goose who nest in a high tree. A goose in a tree a crazy sight don’t you think?
But even if the weather is beautiful … there is lots of work to do. Jan and I are quit busy finishing up custom-made orders and preparing for the upcoming exhibitions.
That means among other things … creating new jewelry! Because … most of the summer our work will be on display in the Gallery Beelden in Gees, we participate in the Aalsmeerse Kunstroute, we present our new collection of jewelry this year at Sieraad in Amsterdam and in December we travel to the south of The Netherlands to participate in Kunst in Kastelen.
