Inspiration for these necklaces come from the paintings of Lucas Cranach, a German Renaissance painter of the 16th century.
Jewelry designer Evert Nijland has a predilection for the baroque forms from this period. Inspiration enough for practically all the female figures in the work of the painter wear jewelry. Even his nudes are adorned with jewels.
The basis of the necklaces made by Evert is natural linen combined with gold, glass beads, wool, wood and silver.
Evert Nijland has studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. His work is on display in museums and galleries all over the world. The jewelry designer lives and works in Amsterdam.
